if you often travel on un-paved roads... like to ride along the railway and don't want to feel any bumps whatsoever... BUY IT!!! I bought it 'cause I didn't want to get rid of my hardtail and wanted to improve the comfort of riding it on crosscountry trails. I would buy it again if I have the chance. SOOOOOO HAPPY WITH IT. FULLY RECOMENDED. Sorry my english, it's not my first language.

This is a fantastic product. I did find that when I set the "spring rate" according to the included chart there was very little suspension compliance or travel (better than none though). When I dropped down to the next lower rider weight setting it soaked up all minor single track trail rubbish and small bumps on the road while still being able to absorb bigger hits from bigger roots, rocks, ect... setting it up this way will only work if you have a very smooth pedaling style and if you just mash the pedals you will find yourself "bobbing" and maybe that is why Cane Creek recommends a more firmer setting in the instructions.
I found that I was able to remain seated and pedaling strong thus making me much faster over the same trail segments. In fact this was so awesome that I bought my first full suspension cross country MTB. The Thudbuster now sees daily duty on my touring/commuter bike and has made the miles glide along without any fatigue.

Have spinal issues so bad I probably shouldn't even be riding a bike. Despite all of the shock absorbing features on my Dawes mountain bike, simple street riding was still quite painful. Doubtful that the Thudbuster would be sensitive enough for my purposes I ordered it anyway. This amazing device went way beyond all expectations and has more than tripled the time I can spend riding (now more than an hour). Used a YouTube video to set it up and had no problems. I weigh 195 but use the grey insert which makes it extremely sensitive -- just what I needed. Not sure this review is useful to average user but I am here to say this thing is magical in the way it works. It's like riding in a cloud. Even doing off road riding again.
