Love these, but adjustment is inconvenient..., October 17, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Profile Design T1+ Viper Aero Bar (Sports) This is my first set of bar extensions (after riding 29 years). I like them, but there's one confounding design flaw: the cinch bolt to adjust the arm rest height/angle is located EXACTLY where you can't reach it with the arm rest in place! In order to adjust the height/angle, you have to REMOVE the arm rest first. This is a real hassle if all you want to do is tweak it a little. The plastic arm rest has a hole that partially covers the cinch bolt. Seems it would've been really easy to make that hole the right size/shape/location to make adjustment a snap.....if only someone had thought of it!
Also...set up for 31.8mm bars. If you want to use on 26mm bars and you don't have the shim, you have to figure out a way to make it work. Mine was used and did not come with the shim. Profile wants $10 (shipping included). Ouch.
Friend has a set of bar extensions with a much nicer clamp design. To switch between using on 31.8mm and 26mm bars, all you do is flip... Read more
not as shown in picture, May 8, 2012 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Profile Design T1+ Viper Aero Bar (Sports) these bars are not what is shown in the picture. the armrests are integrated into the bar mount. in the picture they show the armrests are independantly mounted to the aerobar. also item arrived with a few minor scratches. VERY DISAPOINTED!! now I have to find out how to return this crap.
Nice Bars, October 3, 2011 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Profile Design T1+ Viper Aero Bar (Sports) Nice bars, reasonably light-weight, easy to put on, work well. One rubber end cap on my set came off in my hand 3/4 of the way through the first ITT. It was easy enough to pop-it back in, but it would have been an issue if it had dropped off. Then what do I do, stop and turn around or lose it forever? Got 3rd in that race and it ended up making no difference. I now just keep an eye on the end caps to make sure my hand pressure is not pushing them out of the bars. It's no problem since my eyes are like only six inches from them. Really like the bars and the speed!
