Very good entry level aerobar's, August 17, 2009 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Profile Design T2+ (Misc.) I was in the market for some clip-on aerobars to help improve my cycling time in bi's/du's/tri's. My initial research found clip-on's in the range of $30 to well over $400. I wanted to stay in the lower range for my first try and came across these. The reviews were fairly good on these so I pulled the trigger and ordered them.
They arrived and had a box full of extra's that for me weren't necessary for the installation. There were instructions in the box, but it's really pretty straight-forward putting them on your bicycle. Within 20 mins I had them on the bike and ready for a ride. The aerobars performed admirably, especially for the price. There are two reasons I didn't give them 5/5 stars. First being the padding, simple velcro straps keep them in place and they work just fine, though some improvements could be made. The other thing is that not all the adjustments can be made without impacting other adjustments. I wanted to adjust the vertical angle of the... Read more

Good price for performance, September 10, 2010 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Profile Design T2+ (Misc.) Have used this product for 2 months now and in an Olympic distance triathlon. I am quite pleased with its performance. My handlebars have a 31.8 bulge in the middle, but it doesn't extend very far from the stem mounting and my bike computer mounts to my handlebars as well, so I had to mount these a little wider than I would have liked, but with the included shims and a little bit of old inner-tube rubber between the clamp and the handlebars, they don't budge. I mounted them to regular rams-horn road bike handlebars and left my shifters/brakes in the same spot. Don't forget to wrap the end of the arms with bar tape for extra comfort. Getting into an aero tuck makes your back and neck sore for the first week or so, but afterwards, its basically a free 1.5-2mph if there is any wind at all. My only complaint is that when getting out of the saddle on big climbs, you can hit your knee on the pads if you aren't paying attention.

Not a toy, so why is it in this category., May 10, 2011 By KTS (Houston) - See all my reviews = Durability:

Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Profile Design T2+ (Misc.) These areobars are functional, but could use a couple of modifications. First, let me say that I put them on way small diameter handle bars using thick aluminum shims that I made from bar stock. That was a pain, but that was my fault because I measured wrong (measure twice). That aside, once installed, they work well. my only real gripe is that you have to disassemble it too much to adjust anything. Simple modifications would allow access to all screws without taking the thing apart. Oh well. I would also like it if the arm pads flipped up when not in use. These are my first aeorbars and I love using them. I put them on a cheap trek hybrid, but think they are a great addition. I find the tuck position far less tiring than normal riding position and it is a HUGE advantage when riding into the wind. I gain at least 1 mph without any alteration in how I ride, maybe 2 mph. I won't own a bike without aerobars again. For those who say they are only for time trial or triathlon,... Read more
