This review is from: Xpedo Mountain Force Magnesium/Titanium Clipless Pedals MF-4A (Misc.) These are a great alternative to XTR. They're very light, but they're surprisingly durable. I've had a pair on my mountain bike for nearly four years now, and even after being bashed on plenty of rocks over the course of several hundred rides they're still going strong. I just bought another pair to mount on a cyclocross bike. The open design sheds mud pretty well (the bigger problem with SPD cleats is mud building up in the well around the cleat, which is not something the pedal can really solve) and they've worked fine for me even in some sticky cross racing situations. They come with a pair of cleats, but regular SPD cleats work just fine. Note the weight limit, though! I weigh just a bit over 150lbs; these pedals have worked well for me, but I might be a little nervous if I was closer to the limit.
