Great, no-nonsense, portable (& storeable) design, January 29, 2011 By This review is from: Feedback Sports Truing Station (Misc.) I've owned this stand for something short of 7 years, though mine is branded "Ultimate" ('Ultimate Bike Support' was the small Colorado-based company that closed its doors when the owner retired, and turned its products over to 'Feedback Sports,' another small Colorado company).
A bit of background: I began building and maintaining my wheels since for something more than 10 years, and for a while I was using a fairly inexpensive Spin Doctor stand from Performance Bike (a rebadged Minoura). A little flexy, used some plastic parts where it shouldn't have, but all-in-all a decent stand. The wheel centering feature wasn't reliable, so I relied on the proven "flip-flop method" to ensure the rim was centered between the axle locknuts. Despite the fact it had left and right feelers, truing and building sessions were typically one-sided operations.
I finally decided I wanted to upgrade to something beefier and self-centering, so I spent some money on the... Read more

Nice stand!, March 4, 2011 By Peter (Boston, MA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase I'm not an expert truer or wheelbuilder, but I'm building both wheels for my new bike. I built the front wheel on a Park TS2 stand at the local bike shop. I was building my back wheel at home, but found that my makeshift contraptions just didn't work as well. The wheel uses an IGH, so it is rather heavy, and it doesn't spin as freely as a normal wheel. Most of my contraptions just weren't rigid enough to quickly get an accurate true, so I decided to buy a truing stand.
A random dude on the Internet recommended this one (I was considering this, the TS2.2, as well as a cheap stands like the Spin Doctor or Minoura). I've been quite happy with it. It is well designed, easy to use, holds the wheel rigidly, is accurate, and generally works well. The TS2 was nicer, but only by a hair -- the ergonomics were slightly better (you can true from both sides without switching the wheel around, the caliper adjustment has less play, so is a bit easier to set, and the position where you...
