10 of 10 people found the following review helpful When you don't want to pull the hauler..., March 18, 2007 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: AMC-400 Lightweight Aluminum Motocross & Dirt Bike Carrier for 2" Hitch Receivers When going away for a weekend, or a month, and you just want the smaller bike without the hassel's of pulling the big hauler, then this hitch mounted rail is for you. I used it to carry my KLR650 and it did it very well. Over two thousand miles of use with no problems whatsoever. Just be certain that your hitch was designed for the load that you intend to carry. Great product.....Lynn
3 of 3 people found the following review helpful Dirt Bike Carrier, February 21, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: AMC-400 Lightweight Aluminum Motocross & Dirt Bike Carrier for 2" Hitch Receivers I wanted a bike carrier for my 250 Kawasaki Enduro and chose the AMC 400 Lightweight Aluminum Dirt Bike Carrier to hang it on the back of my Grand Cherokee Laredo Jeep. I am glad I did. The only problem was with the Anti-Tilt Bracket which was defective right out of the box. I wrote a letter of dissappointment directly to Discount Ramps and they sent a new one to me at no charge. It works perfectly. Needsly to say, I am glad I did bussiness with them.
2 of 2 people found the following review helpful Solution to problem of getting the bike off the carrier., January 30, 2011 By This review is from: AMC-400 Lightweight Aluminum Motocross & Dirt Bike Carrier for 2" Hitch Receivers I have read many reviews regarding the problem of getting the bike off this type of stand. I have this exact stand and have been using this carrier for around 4 years and at first I encounter the same problem. Getting the bike off the carrier is a high reach for most average size adults unless you are 6' 6" tall and strong like bull.
My technique is not to pull the bike back and off the ramp but to put the ramp at the front side of the carrier and start the engine, put it in first and slowly power the bike down forward using the clutch.
I do have the lean the bike on the back of the truck first then push the front tire back an inch to slip the ramp in but its so easy once you do it twice. Trust me and good luck, you will enjoy the carrier 1000 times more.
One more thing, you do have to pay attention to leave enough room when you park your truck.
I also added trailer lights to the back to increase the safety factor.
Very happy with... Read more
