What do you mean Hard?, November 15, 2011 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Nashbar Reduced Radius Rollers (Misc.) I ordered them on Friday after work, and they arrived today (Tuesday). I set them up as soon as I got home from work, my bike is a 41.5" so I had to adjust the front roller, which was pretty straight forward. After adjusting the roller I set them up in a hall and proceeded to get on my bike and ride. First time on rollers, had my daughter primed to record it, hoping to recup the cost via funniest home videos. Alas my dreams of riches vanished when I was off to the races in under a minute, my daughter turned off the recorded at that point because I was to boring. Some basics about me, I'm 53, and have been riding bicycles for a few years now, got serious this past summer and picked up a Trek, and quickly moved from 10 mile rides to over 50, doing at least 20 miles a day through out the summer. Wanted something to help focus me, I feel I'm not very stable on the bike yet, and rollers should do the trick in my opinion.
So, after a 30 minute ride, sweat pouring off me, I can... Read more

Got them yesterday, November 4, 2011 By dm "danmc15" (rochester, ny) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Nashbar Reduced Radius Rollers (Misc.) I only received these yesterday and tried them out once, but wanted to clarify something for anyone considering them.
My bike has a 43" wheelbase and it fits using the last notch for the front wheel roller.
If you're bike happens to be longer than this it won't fit.
Otherwise, I like them very much. They are difficult to get used to at first, but not nearly as difficult as some people have made them out to be or as some youtube videos make them seem. Basically, if you have average athletic abilities and decent balance I think you'll eventually get it. I used them in a hallway to prop myself up when needed, but I was able to ride for short bursts without any "cheating."
They seem to be very well built and are smaller than I thought. They can easily be moved and will fit under a bed or in a corner easily.
They come already assembled in the box, the only thing you'll need to do is to adjust the front wheel roller to fit your bike... Read more

Read before you give uo, December 4, 2011 By This review is from: Nashbar Reduced Radius Rollers (Misc.) First let me say that these arrived in less than 4 days even though I went with supercheap ground shipping. The rollers needed to be moved for my frame which took ten minutes. seven of those were spent looking for a socket set. it needs a 11/16 to fit reasonably well. you won't be doing any more than snugging these. The bearing are smooth and I'm looking forward to many mile this winter. I gave it four stars only because it would be nice if a wench came with it like some of the put together furniture.
So now you've got the rollers adjusted . The tires need to be fully inflated (no cheating here) and if your tires have a directional tread (most do) make sure its correct. if in doubt set it up the same way as the rear tire. I almost gave up on mine because I had the tire reversed. Next you'll want to lower the seat a bit as most people have it a little high which causes the irregular pedaling. After you prove to yourself you can pedal than raise it back where you want... Read more
